Taqueria Guymas - Shoreline, WA

A great little mexican restaurant in the northwest. We happened upon the place because it was right next door to a little motel where we were staying the night. Twenty minutes before it was supposed to close for the night, I was a little skeptical about it (don't always trust going into places near closing time) but it turned out to be one of the better Mexican restaurants I'd been to in the state. It had a unique set of options for combination and I, of course, had to make as unusual combination as I possibly could (a mole enchilada, a chimichanga, and a chalupa). Chalupa's intrigue me because I never know what they are going to be like. My initial impression of them come from my elementary school cafeteria version which was a corn tortilla with the edges molded up and a rice and cheese mix places in the inner bowl area. Fortunately, Guymas's version was much better--basically a giant taco using a fried flour tortilla shell rather than a corn one. The place also has a great horchata. I ate would I could of the meal since we had no place to store the leftovers, but I couldn't make it...Taqueria Guymas beat my appetite.
